Rainbow lorikeet (Trichoglossus haematodus) arrived in my yard, but they are a pest here. These two a very tame, perhaps aviary escapees. I have to discourage them, as they guard the water and food from the native birds :-(

How does one discourage a pair of lorikeets? But what a great GREAT photo you got from them! I think they should be rewarded! The investigational (now approved) drug we were working on before I was laid off the first time had the generic name, "Pegloticase." There was a contest to come up with possible brand names for the drug, so I entered, "PEG-Lorieet!" I thought it would have wonderful packaging possibilities. But it didn't win. Sigh. The drug's brand name is "KRYSTEXXA!" #8963485
