Glacier Gold [Nature & Landscapes]
Uploaded: August 24, 2010 17:27:51
During my recent travels to Glacier National Park, I was fortunate to witness some spectacular light shows under gorgeous alpine scenery. This is the first of several images from the Many Glacier area of the Park. Swiftcurrent Lake provided the reflecting pool in this image during sunset as mammatus clouds stream overhead. ISO 100, 4 sec. exposure, 3 stop hard Grad ND filter. A second exposure was used to capture the brightest of highlight details in the clouds. I moved the hand-held grad filter up and down during the exposure to avoid the hard line in the image.
Exif: F Number: 16, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 4/1 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 100, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 17.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark II

Thanks everyone for you kind comments. Finding exceptional light with a stunning backdrop doesn't happen that often, so I felt a bit lucky to be in the right location at the right time. I sometimes feel "I better not blow this!"Thanks for your time and comments.
