Very cool image Rita! The DOF and composition are working well for me. The only distraction is the bit of stick that pops up about in the middle at the bottom. Should be an easy clone. #1214772Aimee C. Eisaman December 10, 2009
Wow...I can't believe it's still hanging on! Really cool composition and I like the colors in the background...nice DOF! I too think that stick has to go. Other than that you may want to try toning down the light area at the top of the frame. Could even clone some of it in if you wanted to, but it's really not big deal. :~) #8207091Teresa H. Wow!! really amazing image. Very well done. The DOF is great. . . I do think the top is a bit bright, but Aimee's suggestion should help. I didn't even notice the stick on the bottom. :) #8207202

It is a cool shot Rita and the fixes made it stronger...we all know I am a big fan of this much of the time and I'm going to say it again on this one because I REALLY feel it will improve it...VIGNETTE!! This is how I would do it on this image...create new blank layer, paint it black, decrease opacity to 35%, make eraser tool with soft brush as large as it can get, click over leaf 3-4 times. #8208014

I like it a lot too Rita, and definitely vote for the second vignette. #8208445Debbie E. Payne December 11, 2009
Rita -- I really like this image and what it is "saying". This could be a poster with something like, 'Still Hangin' on During the Hard Times". I like the vignette idea and if you aren't a fan of vignettes, I think this might also benefit with a tighter crop with the leaf in the top right-hand sweet spot. You would eliminate the too-bright bokeh at the top of the original image. #8208468Dale Hardin December 11, 2009
Rita, this is a lovely shot. I liked it right away. The suggestions were nice enhancements. While not a fan of vignettes, I must admit that Tony was right for it on this shot. Also agree with Debbie that you might try a small crop. Use the 3x5 vertical format with the lower right corner at the bottom just between the two n's in your name and the top just above the joint in the limb above the leaf.
No matter what you do to this image it is still a winner. Well done. #8208606

I also like the vignette, though like Mike, I'm usually not a big fan. I'm going to have to disagree with Dale on the crop. I like it as is. Like Mike said, the isolation feeling of the shot works really well and I'd really miss it. #8209882

It's OK on the crop Rita. I understand and agree on the isolation issue. However, the crop will not change that. Just for your own view, try it and compare the two just to see what you think. I think either way would work well. #8209954
