MAY 2009 FINALIST
I had NO idea the enormous size of an artichoke plant in comparison to the yield!
This plant was about 5x5 feet tall/wide and still growing!!
No wonder they're so expensive!
(Shot in my nephew's garden....West Point, CA)

I tasted my first plump artichoke in Half Moon Bay maybe 10 years ago. I'm salivating like mad right now, Pat. This is a great vegetable shot! Just a great shot--period! #7499140A P May 11, 2009

What a cool capture, Pat! I love these crazy things... always think of them as "California" veggies; the first time I encountered artichokes I was at Cal Poly. And at the time, no WAY you saw them back in Illinois! Can't always find them even now, come to think of it! Congrats again! #7654328Eugenio Diaz June 20, 2009
