Stranded Octopus [Confidence]
Uploaded: August 29, 2012 03:58:47
Hi up on a buttress gablet, this carved octopus (known as a grotesque) seems to wear a look of surprise or dismay, at how far she is from the sea.
(She's a she, per Jeff Sypeck's book "Looking Up", poetry inspired by the cathedral carvings, wherein this octopus reappraises her lobster lover.)
