Madison Church at Night [Contest Finalists December 2006]
Uploaded: December 30, 2005 22:37:05
This is a night photograph of St. Vincent Martyr Church in Madison, NJ. It is similar to the picture that I submitted earlier this month. In this entry, I used PS to cool down the red with levels, straighten the left wall using crop/perspective, sharpen the focus using unsharp mask, and take out the star and the hot spot on the church roof using clone stamp.
Apature: F3.5, Speed: 5 Seconds.

Wow! This is awesome! Wonderful detail, light and color! Really well done!! #366994William S. Briggs December 31, 2005
Cyn, thanks for the great comment! It was just one of those occasions when you ‘see’ an opportunity for an interesting capture. I was walking back to my car after an early evening wedding of a friend and just happened to turn around and look back at the church. The interior lights were still on and it made a beautiful picture in my mind. I particularly like this one because a print was donated to this church and now hangs in a prominent spot. It is the first time one of my photos was displayed in a place where the public can view it on a regular basis.#2239054
