The Light in the Lily [Photography Contest Flower Photos]
Uploaded: May 29, 2006 22:29:57
1/10th second @ f-16, spot metered and custom white balance, iso 160
Uncropped, and unedited. I was amazed to find myself going back to the original in-camera shot again and again as I went thru my post processing motions only to find that it struck me the best. I don't know when the last time was I posted a photo like that. I settled on removing some fine noise and sharpening it a bit in Neat Image, other than that this is an original shot. And if I must say so, arguably my favorite flower shot to date. Sorry if I sound self endulgent, just proud of this one!
The late sunlight was hitting this flower from the side and I just loved the way it looked in camera, the erie orange glow of energy that seemed to penetrate thru and dominate the scene. So I took several shots and liked this one the best. Hope you like it too.

Carl - you should be proud of this photo! It is absolutely awesome. I love the lighting, color, composition, detail, heck everything! Looks like a winner to me! #454884Carl D. Garrard May 29, 2006
Michele,BIG thanks for the kudos here. I really appreciate that! I am proud of this one actually and I don't say that often either ( scared too!!!). Serendipity has funny timing i've found when shooting, just when you think you can't produce anything to be proud of, bang. I don't know if im the only one who experiences that or not.
Thank you for stopping by. AND I love your Gecko!!!
