120: Lest We Forget

On this second day of Spring in the U.S., we have enjoyed several days of sunshine and warmth. But Nature unleashed Her wrath on us this Winter, as can be seen in this "aftermath" shot of my favorite Home Model -- the house next door!

This was shot while the neighbors were away on a 5-week cruise in S.E. Asia, enjoying sweltering temps , humidity of 100%, and plagues of insects!

As I LOVE to remind them, I trudged intrepidly through heavy thigh-high snow (uphill in both directions!) to check their heat, care for their plants, feed "their" birds, photograph their storm damage, and, of course, add chemicals to their hot tub!

Another full day of rain is expected tomorrow. Let's hope the winds are gentle because the ground is still saturated here and there are still tall trees to topple.

Michelle- The story behind the picture was so much fun to read. Don't you hate it when you have to go up hill both ways. Did that going to school. Despite the cold, the damage that happens sometimes, the tough getting around at times, I do so much miss winter. I would rather have this beutiful sight to look at then the lifeless colors of winters in Alabama. A wonderful and long for picture you have here my friend.

Great capture and intresting description of your neighbour duties. Its great to follow these descriptions, it reminds me my younger age in my town neighborwood, here people living in the same building dont know each other from appartment to appartment...hope one of these days you will have the exchange of kindness and make a trip to run away from the floods of the season.
