Photography Contest Second Place
~ UPON THE KANSAS PLAINS ~
There are many of these old grain
elevators upon the Kansas plains...
Many have been replaced by the
common cement type that most people
are more familiar with as alot
of the older ones have been demolished.
This particular elevator was made of
stone or large bricks, I'm not sure which.
This elevator stands alone in the southwest
part of the state, not even sure of the
town that might have once surrounded this
Kansas icon. Railroad tracks run along
side, I'm not even sure the train route
goes by this desolate looking, unpopulated area anymore.
It's still a handsome
piece of Kansas history, that still
stands proudly and alone where at
one time, years ago, while harvest was
in full swing, it was the center of
HAVE A TERRIFIC DAY!!!
