Walking In Paradise

Description

There is a reason they call this side of Mt Rainier, Paradise. I make it my number one priority every year to hike the inspiring flower meadows of Mt. Rainier. There is none other like it. Fields of flowers endlessly.

I love the quote from John Muir I read this year in describing the meadows of Rainier:

"Above the forests there is a zone of the loveliest flowers... so closely planted and luxuriant it seems as if Nature, glad to make an open space between woods so dense and ice so deep, were economizing the precious ground, and trying to see how many of her darlings she can get together in one mountain wreath..."

1/80sec at f13.
