Underwater at the Detroit Zoo

Uploaded: June 22, 2005

Description

f/2.8, 1/1250s, 8 mm, ISO 80, mid afternoon, bright sun (above). Artic Circle Exhibit, Detroit Zoo, point-and-shoot pocket camera (again!) It was scary to be under the water, and all the more so with hordes of other people. It was so crowded we could hardly move, and hot. Scary! (Scary Travel Photos.)

Holy cow, they certainly pack them in there. Very claustrophobic! This has come out so well Mary! #267233

Thanks, Kate! My son Graham was eager to go in there. It's so pretty, but overcrowded for my tastes! #1504666

Mary,
Outstanding Capture! This photo speaks to me of contradiction; heated bodies due to over crowding surrounded by cool water. #1513065

Thank you Laura, Jenny, and Lani! I appreciate your kind comments! Yes, it did feel contradictory! It felt as if it would be nice to walk through the wall into the cool water! #1514212

Thanks, Kelly!! :-)

I also worried a little about the plastic giving way in a big gush and the water coming in on everyone. And then being trapped by the plastic and other people and not being able to get air. But of course, it did not. #1516855
