Hi Everyone! Thank you so much for your visit and for all you said!!!It's so beautiful at this spot. OH! WOULD I LOVE TO BUILD A HOUSE THERE! But alas! I'd have thousands of tourists and locals in my front yard by Christmas time! HA! :D
My brother got a shot of the Avalanche. I was walking alone (Cringe! WILD LIFE!) in the forest when I heard the thunderous rumbles and actually just thought it was thunder! There was light snow and it was cold (JUNE MIND YOU!!!) and I JUST never thought "AVALANCHE"!
It was a small one but LOUD! It looked like a waterfall, they all said.
I am really digging the fract filter, and it's many uses. Thanks for enjoying it with me.
I owe many of you visits. I wont forget!
Many things on my plate at present.
See you soon!

Beautiful lake- I am sure that avalanche was LOUD! #8364170Laura E. Swan February 07, 2010
Hi Kerry, Tammy, Tammy, Tammy, John and Carol! :DThanks so much! Well, as I said earlier, I heard it but missed seeing it. I was walking in the the forest when it happened. Trees in the way! My brother either took a shot of it OR watched it through the binoculars.
I -HAVE- seen them before, however, and they usually look like waterfalls if they are in June. WINTER avalanches can involve entire mountainsides. But in June, like this was, other than the glaciers, the snow is fresh and sparse and can melt off the next day causing LOTS of little avalanches of snow to drop.
I DO HAVE A SHOT of a "June" Avalanche from Mt Kidd. Let me dig that one up and crop it and share it here for you guys. You will see what I mean. They are small, (from a distance), and just look like waterfalls. BUT the ~RUMBLE~ is intense like -THUNDER- and up close they are probably more massive than we give them credit for.
I'll go fetch it. In the mean time, thank you all for coming by.

Thank you Barbara and Thank you Laura! So VERY nice of you both!!!
If any of you were wondering where the Avalanche was it was the Rocky furthest away here, almost straight ahead-right and then up. Where it touches the top of the picture. That is where is came down.
