Morning at the Glen
Uploaded: December 09, 2009
------
A few mornings ago, as I was stripping sheets, my eye was distracted by an amazing amount of bird activity in the front yard. I ran for my camera and stood at the window for about a half hour, snapping away.
-------
This gorgeous Northern Flicker female stood quietly to allow me to get this shot. Through the bedroom window, about 80 feet away, the focus was unartistic, but it has grown on me.
-----------
Used the camera's wildlife setting, which captured the Flicker at 1600 ISO. Tamron 18-270 lens, handheld.

Handheld? 80 feet away...Girl, you and your Tamron zoom are an unbeatable combo! Flickers are my favorite also and you've captured her sweetly - but that moss covered stump!! I need that in my backyard! Well done, Michelle! #8203519Ron McEwan December 09, 2009
I see absolutely nothing wrong with this terrific wild life shot. Job very well accomplished my friend. #8203618Marty Straub December 09, 2009
Your whole story exudes artistic, Michelle. Only the artistic sheet stripper would have noticed the activiity. It was the thrill of the art that kept you there in the not-so-perfect setting for a half hour. You show an artistic attachment to your subject, and your appreciation of your craft brought you a deeper understanding of your result. You may not consider it your best work, but it sure has your best workings. #8203686Monnie Ryan December 09, 2009
