No Cell (Story)

I love the story here - love the way he's leaning into the side there and the pop of yellow of the receiver in the largely neutral palette, the details and the slightly off-center composition. Wonder if he's talking to a girl - or just calling his mom for a ride home :) I was very pleased with the variety of subjects in your November entries, Chris. There were many that attracted me but I'm making this my favorite. #1214420

Thanks so much, Nikki, for your great comment. This was (as were most of my Nov. images) from the BP Summit Photo Shoot in NYC; my team leader was Ibarionex Perello, who is all about shooting people pics on the street, so it was a huge step outside my comfort zone. (Shooting someone from behind definitely is the sneakier, easier way ;)
I too liked his stance... couldn't tell if it was a pleasant phone call and he was just casually leaning, or if it wasn't a happy call. There's almost a resignation in his posture, I think. #8205678

I don't know what surprised me more--a working payphone in the city, or someone without a cell phone in the city.
