Description

I will never forget watching the Wizard of Oz for the first time when I was a little girl. I got my first glimpse of a magical and faraway place and secretly wished for a pair of Ruby Red Slippers.
My grand-daughter was Dorothy for Halloween and I loved the trip down the Yellowbrick road through her eyes.

Wonderful capture, Melissa -- sure brings back memories for me, too! This year, the middle school our granddaughter attends did a production of the Wizard of Oz; she was a very entertaining Wicked Witch of the West and her mom (our daughter who teaches at a middle school in a different district) helped direct. As for the original movie, both our kids were terrified of it! #8093523

Melissa- Now this is way cool. One of the nursed brought her little girl into work last night and she was dressed as Dorothy. Sam exact shoes and the dress is identical. As with this young lady, she looked so cute. Love how you focused on the shoes for this picture as we are all so familiar with the story. Beautiful colors, lighting and clarity superb, an adorable capture.
Have a wonderful Sunday my friend, enjoy. #8093588

Wonderful composition and great story Melissa. Grandchildren are so much fun. I had a fabulous time with mine last night. I'll go along with Monnie, I was too sheltered, my first movie was the Wizard of Oz and I ran screaming out of the theatre when the house came down on the witch. Kids now are used to scarey stuff. Check out my grandaughter at 9 as a vampire #8093686
