Aasgard Pass Trail
Uploaded: October 13, 2009
Straight ahead are the Enchantment Peaks (or The Enchantments) accessed by the trail through Aasgard Pass originally starting at Trail #1599 and then continuing on as Trail #1599.1 (Green Trails map #209S). One can see a cairn (a manmade pile of stones) just to the left of center indicting the way through the Larch (or Tamarack) all ablaze in fall gold, this point is about 5½ miles in from the trailhead and around 6,000 feet above sea level. Because the mountains are so sheer, this photo is actually a four (4) shot panorama taken with a vertically handheld DSLR (digital single lens reflex) camera set at ISO 100 and f/8 using a wide-angle zoom lens (12 to 24). Entered into the “Nature & Landscapes” category and shared with the BetterPhoto Club: “Photographing the Northwest -- Hiking Club.”
