Early to Rise

Hoping for the Perfect sunrise and the Joy of capturing it! Texas - An Autumn sunrise! I have had encounters with many things over the years while photographing nature and landscape images - Deer, turkeys, bobcat, water moccasins (very poisonous snake) and even the police! But, on this morning, while photographing the sunrise, I turned around and noticed a Skunk standing behind me!! I quietly moved away and got back into my Expedition that I had parked along the side of this back-road. The Skunk finally made his way through the tall grass and disappeared. While waiting for the Skunk to leave I noticed that my Canon EOS 50D mounted on the tripod looked pretty cool against that beautiful sky. I had my Canon G10 with me that I used it to take this image - I guess I have the Skunk to thank too! (The view from my 50D is in the comments section).

Jeff- Had a laugh reading about your adventure. As it turned out, you indeed did get a fantastic shot and the camera on the tripod is pretty unique and cool. What intensified the already amazing glow of colors for me, is that you posted it next to your nightlife picture and the way we see two different times of the day. That is one gorgeous sky and must have been such a joy to take in.Kerry Hill October 12, 2009
