Wow! Terrific work,Laura!! Super image!!!! #7873836Laura E. Swan August 21, 2009
Hi everybody. We were gone for over 9 hours today while rafting...almost 5 on the river. Hard work for a short kid! HA! But it was very very fun.I sure appreciate all you guys said here. I'm glad you like it!
Yes, S.Z. This is my other part but not my other half. He's my 75% since I am so short!
Mr Tree, I promise the trees are still there. You just can't see them now. I made it "night time" back there in the BG...They are only sleeping. :) Do you feel better now???
You guys, thanks for saying this was great and fabulous, terrific, excellent and outstanding (and even a WINNER! WOW).
I like this one a lot, too. It was a challenge to make and very gratifying.
Your comments mean lots to me. Thank you all so very much!

Tammy Espino August 22, 2009
Have a wonderful rafting trip!!! This is outstanding work~ :) #7878582Laura E. Swan August 22, 2009
We had a great time Tammy-girl! It was a total blast! A harder run than I remembered from two years ago...about 7 or so bridges to travel under (dangerous as the pylons can pull you under) but a fabulous time!! Can't beat the fresh air and excitement of it all.I'm glad you like this one. I do too, Tammy! You're tops! Thanks for the visit.

Hi Denny, Patrick and Jack! Those Cat 5's don't sound 6 good to me Denny. I like nice peaceful raft trips with a few thrills but that's all. You were brave to even try them!
Patrick and Jack...did you like the DDR work here? You didn't say...You did however talk about the dancing ladies and rafting HA! Too funny! :)
Thanks you three. Good to see you!
Have great days and PATRICK, TAKE COVER. That storm (hurricane Bob) is headed your way and SOON!!!

WONDERFUL DD work here Laura, LOVE the wonderful effect and presentation, VERY well done!! <>< #9984046Reynaldo D. Reyes February 17, 2012
Well worth the time and effort Laura, love your DD work, you're so inspired. Glad you had a great time river rafting. We all do need some exciting activities especially those that require physical effort every now and then for the sake of our health. #9988479Emile Abbott February 18, 2012
Awesome work on this powerful portrait Laura and glad you had a great rafting trip. It has been years for me last one down Rio Grande at Big Bend. #9988963Laura E. Swan February 18, 2012
Hi Mare! I miss so many neat things, too. It's fun to re-enter our favorite's from time to time! :))) I love this one of Dale. Glad you do, too! xo*
Hi Nancy! Thanks so MUCH kind lady!
*
Rey- You're so good to me. Thank you! Also, we love rafting. It's exciting. We don't take runs that are too TOO dangerous. Okay, I scream a *LITTLE* but only in a few parts of the river, and I always know it's coming. It's a happy scream! :))) We have a good raft with 6 or 7 chambers of separated air so even if we get a rip (and we have in the past !) we make it all the way! (And we wear our life jackets as well, so we're always okay!! :)))
* Hi Emile! It's so beautiful rafting down the BOW RIVER. You will see the BOW RIVER many times on your trip I think? Hummm...if you go north through Edmonton you might not? Anyway, it is pure and fresh glacier water from the JASPER area! (AND COLD TOO!) I'd love rafting the Rio Grande. I hear there is like a 5 year waiting list now! You have to put your name down somewhere? (Parks department???)
Thank you all for commenting on this portrait. I made this back when I ALMOST had NO PS programs. It was mighty hard work giving birth to this one! (It gave me intense labor pains!)

Wow! I just found out that this is a portrait of Dale! ... I always thought that it was some famous musician! Knowing what I know now, I find this image even more impressive, Sis!!! Good luck with it this time around! :) #9989304Laura E. Swan February 18, 2012
Hey Sis. I'll let you in on a secret. Dale has ALWAYS wanted to be a sax player. I think it looks right on him, too! So if you want to we can pretend he is a famous musician???What do you think?
I actually shot this while we were camping at the Bow River Camp ground a few years back.
Do you know what I love best here? His sharp features. Dale has the most interesting face.
Come see him here in Kiki's gallery!

Thanks for making me smile so big! I'll be sure Dale reads this thread, too! :)))

This is an awesome portrait. You inspire me. I love how prominent his face is. #10037327Laura E. Swan September 11, 2012
Thank you Phyllis. This week this very image is being put onto a 24" x 18" canvas, except I made it entirely B&W. I took out the blue tones. It's a belated gift for Hubby's Birthday. :)))So sorry for my delayed response!
