Literate Bovine??

Uploaded: August 08, 2009

Description

While my husband and I were driving through the countryside on July 21, 2009, at 9:52 a.m. , we saw a cow coming toward us in the road. She turned in front of our vehicle, walked up the slope, stared for a few minutes at this sign, and then continued her journey along the highway.
Camera: handheld, Tamron 18-270 mm lens set at 191 mm, spot metering (because, in my haste to get the picture, I forgot to change it to evaluative), ISO 200, shutter priority (1/160), f/7.1
The edits I made in Lightroom 2 really saved this photo since the original was washed out because of the bright sunlight and the fact that I had placed the spot focus on the cow, which added even more light to the image.

Contest: Animals (August 2009)
