Detail from the west pediment of the Parthenon, Athens, showing part of the sun god's horses, completed in 432 BC. Most of the marble sculptures from the Parthenon were acquired by Lord Elgin and are in the British Museum while the New Acropolis Museum waits, hopefully, for their return.
