Metamorphosis

To a wonderful friend and fellow BP member, Barbara McMichael.
Two weeks ago, Barbara and my daughter went for a walk. They found a Monarch caterpillar and set it up in an aquarium, along with some milkweed (which the caterpillar found to be quite tasty!). I photographed the caterpillar, the chrysalis, and the pretty butterfly, which emerged this morning. After drying her wings, and being a wonderful model for two hours, "Sparky" (named by my daughter) fluttered happily into the trees.
Thank you, Barbara.
