Translucent Filtered Rose

Description

This was taken yesterday at the Nature Coast Botanical Gardens. The sun was brilliant and created harsh light and dark shadows.

I went to the gardens with former BP member Marilyn F. and she held the translucent reflector over this rose to reduce the harshness of the blazing sun. I did the same for her.

I used my Canon 100mm macro lens with and aperture of 7.1 to obtain slightly more detail in the rose while still getting a shallow DOF effect. As usual, this was shot in RAW.
