Susan What a terrific shot! This looks like it could be off one of those glossy show room brochures. No suggestions needed on this one - it is a sure winner. #7723571

Debbie E. Payne July 09, 2009

Very commanding image of a great looking cat! Love that blue and the angle really makes this image happen! #7723591

This is the photo that won in the top 10 and was featured in Poplular Hot Rod magazine... I think I would have won first instead if I had submitted it like this...I did the editing on it today...trying to replace the sky but it was JUNK! So I decided to clone the asphalt all around. I will post the original and my LAME attempt at the sky. Like it so much better with the black. The one that won is the orignal with the planes in the background...go figure...but at least it won something and was published! lol #7723592

Thank you Bobby, Michael and Debbie - This was the first time I attempted cars. I'd like to try a few car shows when my back is better...they don't move like people do! lol
Since all of you enter the contests here I decided to put a few in...I put this one under the monthly theme, Reconnecting. Keeping my fingers crossed! #7723613

First Susan your sky isn't "Lame" at all but your final choice is a real winner!! First of all black on black wasn't an easy exposure and you nailed it. Your POV and clean shine on the car is awesome. But unless a car is still with nothing to reflect off them cars can be a PS nightmare removing everything a shiny car reflects off it's paint. Good luck with this as I said it's a winner in my book! Congratz on being in Popular Hot Rod. How exciting! #7723785

Thank you Ann, Sharon and Ellen...my hubby wears the winners T-shirt and carries the magazine with the photo in it to all the car shows he goes to...I think he is just a wee bit proud! lol #7724626

Aimee C. Eisaman July 10, 2009

I think the one you posted as lame sky isn't lame at all....those colors are wonderful! You shot this car in fantastic light! Great angle!!! I like your new version too and think this is perfect for the monthly theme! :~) #7724797

Susan M. Reynolds level-addict July 10, 2009

Thanks Aimee,
I thought it was lame because the line of connection is pretty evident and not straight. I also thought it brought your eye to the lighter corner and distracted from the car.
Took me forever and I just didn't like it...sigh...Learning and Re-Learning is such a joy! #7724960

Susan, I love your first post it is a awesome shot, everyone loves a good car shot. Very nicely done. #7725267

Michael Kelly level-classic July 10, 2009

Susan I agree with those who say your sky is not lame at all. I like the all black because it leaves only the beautifully captured subject, but the sky shot has lots of merit too. Congratulations on being published - your husband has a right to be proud! #7725279

Anthony L. Mancuso July 10, 2009

Excellent image Susan, I can see why it was published! I am also agree that the new sky does not look lame at all...I actually like the planes in the backdrop and think it would be cool to see them more prominently to echo the speed and agility of the car..Outsanding capture that will no doubt go far in the contest no matter which bg you go with... #7725341

Dale Hardin July 10, 2009

Love this Susan and congrats on getting published. The angle along with the clean background really makes this shot . Also getting a clean image without reflections is so hard to do and you've captured it perfectly.

Absolutely AMAZING Susan!

The rich color of the car against the black background is fantastic. Makes me want to find some cars to shoot.

I really like this shot, I'm going to have to mark it as a favorite. #7725869
