Last Day Of Planting Our Crops

Uploaded: May 28, 2009

Description

Sunday evening we finished planting our crop of potatoes. There was a storm coming and we prayed that it wouldn't hit us. The storm missed our fields but up the road the wind ripped off a metal roof, took some trees down, ripped siding off of homes and there was hail. Strange weather.

Whew -- those storms are very scary. Fantastic capture of the weather, and the tractor in the distance puts the whole thing in perspective. Outstanding! #7571397

The stormy sky, the tractor in the distance-great perspective and really deals with all that farmers have to consider anymore with this unusual weather. #7571501

Great shot Roxanne. Great colors also. I know what you are talking about. We were out tell 4:00am getting our cotton planted before a storm. We planted 1280 acres. We got to much rain that next day and had to replant 550 acres. Now everthing is planted and up and now we need some rain. That's the way it is. Deon #7574223

Storms certainly make great photography subjects. Doesn't it feel good when you have finished putting out a crop, we were always very relieved the weather held off until we put out the last sticks for catching Oysters. Good one. #7598114
