Description


In a few weeks the annual Cherry Blossom Festival will take place in Washington DC. I was there last year about a week before when the blooms were just coming out. Here is a photo taken at twilight; the sun just setting and it is still a tad bit light out, giving the blossom a surreal look to them.

Cropped photo, Topaz filter, color adjustments with Selective Colors. High pass filter sharpening. Contrast adjustment.

Exif: F Number: 5, Exposure Bias Value: 0.33, ExposureTime: 15/10 seconds, Flash: fired, auto mode, return light detected, ISO: 100, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 52.00 mm, Model: NIKON D80

Wow. Magnificent! That evening glow is just ethereal! I had to put this in my faves. Gorgeous work! (The only time I went to the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC, the weather was just awful - the trees were absolutely bare - and we never saw the sun, much less a blossom! So disappointing!
