Riding Piggyback

This is the Space Shuttle Challenger that was lost during launch in January 1986. I took this image in November 1985 after Challengers last successful space flight. Here she is mounted on top of a NASA Boeing 747 at Edwards AFB California preparing to return to The Cape in Florida. This was taken very early in the morning - Effects created with PSE7 and the NIK Solarization filter. With Space Shuttle flights becoming “Routine” I was the only person photographing on this morning…..
