Awww, what a cutie! I just want to reach out and give him a scratch behind the ears. Nicely done. What kind lens and depth of field did you use for it? #7161505Mary Beth Aiello February 13, 2009
Thanks all for your kind comments.Mark, I used an 85mm lens, 1/50, f/2.0, at ISO 1600, taken indoors at a dog training facility. The light is rather dim, but I just loved his expression. #7161819

Many thanks Mary Beth! I am around a lot of dogs and can't seem to get all the components together. Either I can't get the DOF right, the dog moves and I get blur (usually low light), or some other factor shows it's ugly head. This should be very helpful! I'll let you know. - Mark #7161894Mary Beth Aiello February 13, 2009
It is very tough, Mark, to shoot in low light. I try to move around the dogs initally, just to get them familiar with me and my being there. Then I grab the camera, and shoot quickly. For the fussy ones, a friend often stands behind me bribing them with a cookie. That stops them in their tracks. Good luck. #7161943DiAnna F. Paulk June 17, 2009
