Snow, Mud, Old Mill, and ...

Description

--------
...Rusty Old Turbine.
---------
Another view of Stover-Myers Mill in Pipersville, PA. The mill was built by Jacob Stover in 1800, and it remained in the family for many generations. Eventually, the water wheel was replaced by steam engines, and the mill stayed competitive until the 1920's. The rusty turbine in the foreground is one of the two that remain on the property.
---------------
Intrepid photographer slipped and fell in the deep, slimy mud on Sunday, when the temperature had risen rapidly to melt the snow and ice that blanketed the area. She was a mess!
------------
This old mill BELONGS in the annals of the Living History of Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

This is a beautiful capture, Michelle. Love the clarity and detail, not to mention the rusted turbine. That's a find in itself. From the angle I'll guess you took this shot while you were still in the prone position.
I hope you didn't get your lens dirty. #7148330

A captivating image here, you have captured not only the detail of this old relic, but the bleakness of the day really adds to the mood. I think another good shot would have been the photographer in the mud, would have made a great action shot at least. LOL #7148524

Note:
Thanks for caring about my injuries...they are minor! When I fell, my left hand hit the mud first...and somehow acquired four tiny splinters (from mud?) that are still working their ways out of my palm! I otherwise made it home wet and dirty, but unscathed!
Also, forgot to mention that the sky was a dull gray at the time I shot this, so had to swap for a more interesting gray sky.

great composition of this wonderful local mill. I like the sky, seems to set the mood.
I have similar pictures of this mill but I think there was more snow on the ground. Will have to go back to check my DVD's from a few years back.

It still amazes me every time I drive by that the rusty turbine out to deteriorate :(
Hope you didnt get too messy lol, I've had thing happen like that to me many times. I usually look around to make sure no one saw me #7369217
