Oh, how I love ponies! What a wonderful capture, Peter! Have a blessed day...Peter W. Marks February 21, 2009
Thank you so much Melinda. Bodmin Moor is a relatively small area,(just 20 x 10 miles)od what is known as "common land" in England. Tenants of local small farms have an ancient right to allow their stock to graze on the land. Bodmin Moor. This area is very rough, heather covered upland, lttered with granite outcrops and is only suitable for sheep and a few ponies to graze on. It is a fascinating place as there are hundreds of remains of Iron Age and medieval civilization. If you are interested just Google Bodmin Moor.Nikki McDonald March 10, 2009
Nice capture, Peter. I think it's really hard to get good detail on the heads when the lighting is like this but you did. Love the way that colt is hugging momma's side :) #7266782Peter W. Marks March 11, 2009
Thanks Nikki. I have a problem making any image like this. It is obviously not a still-life where I could play around with the lighting and frankly this would not be my style anyway but it is a moment in time that I wanted to bring back from my homeland, the UK, to where I now live in Illinois. It is all in the mind of course and perhaps no one else can experience it but I can hear the little stream, the little chestnut stallion's pony-noises; feel the slight breeze and smell the very earth that 2000 years ago had been walked on and worked by that early civilization.Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
