Crossing the Queen Emma
Uploaded: February 08, 2003
In Willemstad, Curacao, a pedestrian walks across the floating Queen Emma Bridge, which swings out several times a day to let ships pass through the harbor. Same scene as one submitted last year, but different shot.

Wow nice photo, Patricia. Great colors, composition and timing. #50743Patricia Marroquin May 26, 2019
Thank you, Damian, Cathy and Murry. Murry, I was lucky with the timing on this. A big crowd of us were waiting for the gate to open so we could cross this bridge. But the guy you see here was impatient; he hopped over the gate and walked across ahead of all of us. :-) #50747Murry Grigsby May 26, 2019
...and that dark sky with sun on the buildings really pop the colors! I think by seeing and taking the photo you made your own luck. #50748Patricia Marroquin May 26, 2019
That dark sky didn't help me with some of the other photos I took, but it worked here. Thanks, Murry, that's kind of you to say. #50778Gary H. Minish May 26, 2019

Gary and Bernard, thank you so much. Gary, I just got back from a "cruise show" and was fascinated by the presentations on Alaskan cruises. Hope to visit your beautiful state, if not this year, then in the future. #51351Joy Brown May 26, 2019
