Description

Our group on a birding field trip braved face tingling cold temperatures of -32C with wind chill.
It was worth it!
Aperture priority, 420mm, ISO-200, F/6.3, 1/1000 sec, Exposure compensation +0.7.

Exif: F Number: 6.3, Exposure Bias Value: 0.67, ExposureTime: 1/1000 seconds, Flash: did not fire., ISO: 200, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 420.00 mm, Model: NIKON D80

Thanks so much for your kind comments Clyde, Rachelle, Walter and Michelle.
I had a ridiculously cooperative juvenile owl to work with and took many many shots. It was rare to get a sharp image with the owl engaging the viewer.
So often in the photo those big beautiful yellow eyes were only partially opened and often looking away in another direction.
In this image however, the elements I wanted seemed to all come together. #7036664
