Old Kayak in Dense Fog - 20mm

Uploaded: January 01, 2009 23:57:51

Description

Wide-angle at my Ranchette; 20mm, f13 @ 1/30th second, with focusing about 1/3rd up from the bottom border (to ensure good sharpness on the kayak's bow); ISO 200; tripod with cable shutter release. Note: The tip of the boat was within a foot of my camera. With the close focusing and not-super-small aperture, the Depth of Field - along with the back of the boat and the grassy field - fade into the upper distance, which includes a pond. Also: To my eye, the tree in the upper right background provides a "secondary" focal point for that part of the image while helping to balance the composition with the boat at the left.

Exif: F Number: 13, Exposure Bias Value: 0.50, ExposureTime: 1/30 seconds, Flash: did not fire., ISO: 200, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 20.00 mm, Model: NIKON D3
