Nice spring colors, Carol! The sky is so blue! And you caught the bee in flight! I know how hard to do something like this. Good job!Carol Engstrom May 26, 2019
Thank you Monika! I appreciate your comments. Glad you liked this. :-) #48939Gerda Grice May 26, 2019
Wonderful shot, Carol! I agree with Monika. Catching a bee in flight is a real accomplishment--and you've not only done that, but you've also created a beautiful composition. I love the lovely colours and sparkling clarity of this image, too. #48948Carol Engstrom May 26, 2019
Thank you so much for your kind comments, Gerda. I'm glad you enjoyed this. :-) #48957Gary H. Minish May 26, 2019
Wow! What an amazing action macro, Carol! It's beautiful plus the bonus of bees frozen in action! #48971Carol Engstrom May 26, 2019
Thanks Gary! #48972Judy M. Sayers May 26, 2019
What can I say that hasn't been said? This picture is just 'Oh Wow', you caught the bee!!!! JSay :) #49070Carol Engstrom May 26, 2019
Thanks for you comment, Judy. :-) #49102Tracy L. Kolisnyk May 26, 2019
Hi Carol! This is really wonderful! What a fantastic capture of the bee in flight!!! Beautiful colours. Well done :) #49230Carol Engstrom May 26, 2019
I appreciate your nice comments, Tracy! :-) #49236Joy Brown May 26, 2019
Awesome shot, Carol. Amazing how the bee in flight looks like he is just suspended there (so sharp!). #49250Carol Engstrom May 26, 2019
Thanks Joy. :-) #49252Gregory M. Berger May 26, 2019
Good eye, Carol!Carol Engstrom May 26, 2019
Hi Greg! I see you found the bees you were asking about. Glad you like this shot. :-) Being in Ohio, I am sure you will probably have a while before spring arrives. I'll try to put some more spring pictures on for you.I know how easy it is to miss pictures here. I would like to look at them all, but haven't even had a chance to look at the site the last couple of days except to post my picture and answer the comments. Hopefully I can check out everyone's great work tomorrow. #49867

Thanks again, Cathy! :-) #49880Gary H. Minish May 26, 2019
Carol, This should be a finalist and a first place winner. It just doesn't makes sense when compared with so many of the photo finalists that are nowhere near the quality and beauty of this photo. I'm on business in Houston, Texas and don't have access to my email until this coming Saturday, but I'll send you a note then. #63196Carol Engstrom May 26, 2019
Wow--thanks for the vote of confidence Gary. I appreciate the encouragement. I do tend to get a little discouraged as my photos never make finals, but I love the feedback from the other photographers on this site, so will keep entering. #63254Lorraine T. Lynch May 26, 2019
You have my vote and you keep entering Carol! Don't get discouraged as your images are beautiful! We all must keep positive :) #63270Carol Engstrom May 26, 2019
Thanks Lorraine. There are so many wonderful images that don't make finals I know work better than mine gets passed over. I just lack a bit of self-confidence so I am afraid my pics have some terrible flaws that I can't see. #63272Judy M. Sayers May 26, 2019
That's so true Carol, I mean I understand about lack of confidence and I feel my pics also must have terrible flaws that I can't see either. But I have to admit I've learned alot just by examining the ones that have won. I personnally really thought this bee one was going to be a winner. Keep up the good work Carol. JSay :) #63322Cathy M. Gromball May 26, 2019
Ditto on the self-confidence, Carol! So many of your photos are awesome, though, and I think we just have to keep in mind that the judges have a tough job with 5000+ entries to choose from. So, like Lorraine said, we just must stay positive and keep on shooting and entering!Cathy :) #63332

Thanks Judy and Cathy. :-) Glad to hear I am not the only one that suffers from self-doubts sometimes. We will all just have to keep each other encouraged. I love that about this site, and I have learned a lot from seeing the other pics and the comments also. The most important thing for me is to make sure I keep enjoying photography--so far that hasn't changed. #63353Gerda Grice May 26, 2019
I agree with the others, Carol. This is a super shot. Getting a bee in flight and getting everything else right at the same time is a tremendous accomplishment. #63938Carol Engstrom May 26, 2019
Thank you Gerda. You're kind words mean a lot to me. :-) #63941Tracy L. Kolisnyk May 26, 2019
Hi Carol, as well, I agree with everyone.... I too love this photo and feel that it should have been a finalist. At least in our hearts we feel this way, so it is! :) It can get discourageing, I agree.... I've been quite busy and haven't been able to commit the time to view and submit lately, lots of catching up to do.... I guess also because I got a little discouraged because I've already submitted most of my best phtotos...LOL But I have learned so much already from this wonderful website and viewing all these wonderful shots from others, and helpful hints, just keep on shooting and submitting..... Have a great weekend!! :) #64021Carol Engstrom May 26, 2019
Thanks Tracy. :-) Keep sumitting. I always like to see your work--although lately I haven't had much time to look or comment either. Every time I think I am not going to submit, I remember how much I enjoy the feedback I get from this site and decide to put my photo on. This really is a great site, even though I don't enjoy the contest aspect of it that much. There are so many other things that make it very worth while for me. #64843Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
