Pomegranates
Uploaded: December 07, 2008
I'm always interested as to how others have taken photos so I thought I'd explain my process here. Setup: black paper under glass as the base, a piece of black velvet as the backdrop as it absorbs light, reading lamp to the left front and as the pomegranate quarter was too dark I shone a torch on it for 3 secs. Exposure was -2 EV,6 secs at 5.6, tripod with cable release. This then meant very little DD work - cropping, slight tweak of levels to make the blacks black and a little saturation and sharpening. All up about 3 minutes in Photoshop!
Exif: F Number: 5.6, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/2 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 100, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 90.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL

Thanks Patrick, Rolan and Stefania for your comments. BP is helping me to improve my photography. And Stefania, no pizza but I did have pasta so I hope that counts. Bev #6868686Vladan D. Djordjevic December 08, 2008

Patrick, I'm doing my bit to help the US economy as the pomegranates are imported from there - at exorbitant costs!!! Someone I work with liked my image so they went off to buy a pomegranate too. Bev #6881174Max Aureli December 11, 2008
