UV, it is heartwarming. When I am out with Cindy folk just love her when she is working ignoring everthing, thank you for your kind words!

Graham Robards November 27, 2008

Thank you Agnes for your encouragement,
great you liked the video, I shortened it from a much longer one, a temperament test to see if she was suitable material as a service dog.

Sorry to hear that you lost your lab in March! 14 is a very good age for a large dog, treasure the memories! ~Pat #6817364

UV, I forgot to thank you re the video, it was shorted from a temperament test Cindy did to be accepted into a registerred Program we are going through with as me as a private trainer.

It is rare for this to happen but this organisation will do it provided it is a good team and we are I am proud to say.

The fellow from the organisation saw the video and we had our provisional Public Access licence two weeks later. Cindy is the best thing that has come along in my life to help me get out and about and walk with dignity! ~Pat #6817623

What an absolutely beautiful Dog! You two really do make a great team... love your laugh by the way... two questions... did the cookie jar survive??? and just how fast does Teena's tail wag???

In the past when you talked about dog training I always imagined routine training skills for a show dog. I had no idea that you were training service dogs.
Wow, what a wonderful job. #6821606

Graham Robards November 28, 2008

Hi Irene, I am training Cindy as my service dog. Iv'e trained two of my dogs in the past as assistance dogs.

Then I got a dog from a Program as she was nice and tall but was so ill mannered, badly trained and knocked me flying and then went and laid under a tree so I had to crawl to the house.

So I gave her back as a gentleman in a wheelchair had to wait 12 months for a dog from this particular organisation.

I was very lucky to be accepted by a Program as a private trainer and train my own dog, Cindy has her provisional Public Access ID so can go into shops etc.

In the past I trained dogs for Showing and for TV ads but have moved on, assistance/service dog training is where I am at.

Not to say I don't train other assistance dogs, I do, I just spent six months with a hearing alert dog and his owner, the owner was harder to train than the dog. LOL.

Graham Robards November 28, 2008

LOL Sherry, you must have watched the other videos! Wasn't that a hoot with the kids on roller blades asking if he could take Teena for a ride! Didn't she just love it by the looks of her tail.

Oh that cookie jar is brilliant,I put it near things that Cindy will steal so it makes a noice "stop, you away from the cookie jar".

Thanks for popping in Sherrybear and for your kind words! ~pat

What a magnificent specimen Pat. Looks like an action hero waiting to save the world.

Since this is a photo club may I suggest some changes to enhance the image? Clone (or copy) some grass from the hillside to eliminate the slope behind the dog. It distracts from his wonderful stance. Also then crop from the left and just a little from the top. #6823284

Graham Robards November 29, 2008

Thank you Dale, I will do that, I didn't even notice the slope to be quite truthful.

I actually wasn't happy with it, there was a reason why and you pointed it out. I'll fix it right now and upload it tomorrow.

Thank you again Dale! I asked Graham if it was alright and he said yes but he says yes to anything LOL.

~pat #6823910

Sherry McClead November 29, 2008

I notied the slope and kinda liked it... gives Cindy a kinda "Up UP and Away" stance...

Sherrybear :} #6824241

Graham Robards November 29, 2008

Yes, I looked at the original as I thought with this photo I had mucked up the pigment on her lips but I didn't.

I will still clone the BG out and see what it looks like, thanks Sherrybear!

I SO ADMIRE people who train dogs; especially service dogs. What an awesome feeling that must be, to give someone such a wonderful gift. This is a gorgeous dog and a good shot. I sort of liked the slope as well. #6831979
