Your approach to this composition and the way you angled your camera seems to stretch this tree away into the atmosphere! Very nice! ... this would work even better I think with a grouping of this same type of tree... the solid blue places a nice emphasis on the light hitting the treetop! Cool! #1009923

Different POV though... and that is what you wanted right? Love the blue.. but can see the broccolli... cool!

Its always nice to look at a subject NOT on "eye level"; which means seeing something in an irregular POV. This is a good example of that. You always want to try different angles. You deserve some props for that! Overall, I think this is a decent shot. Then again, its just me :) #6549954

I like it, makes the tree look really TALL. #6550354

Attention SHORT PEOPLE! All of our SP's should be done in this fashion from now on!!! Ha!

That being said this is a great shot to be able to discuss for our monthly focus on the DRU club this month.

LOOKING UP can greatly increase overall impact of your subject.

May, next time you are out with the camera, have even more fun and do this again with a tree, except this time butt right up to the trunk (Almost hugging the tree) and get a shot looking up from there! WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!! I have one to share here in my home photo gallery but couldn't find it. Maybe B4 our focus month is over I will!

Great imagination here! -Laura ~DRU~ #6550774

I like what your doing to get this great POV. The one thing with doing this is that you want to be much closer to the tree and shoot up the trunk. This way the tree does not appear to be falling over. #6551773

Hi May... very cool image. I like that it is the only tree/ the blue sky in the frame (because there is no negative space for my eye to follow). I would like to sit down right below the tree and take some shots of it while looking up too.
Great shot for a 'Creative POV'.

Thanks everyone, for your wonderful input. I appreciate it.
Christine, I would LOVE to find this tree in a group, but alas, no luck. But that would be an awesome shot.
I’d also love to be able to snuggle up to the trunk and shoot straight up the trunk; this tree was in a cemetery, so where I could shoot was limited.
David, thanks for the tip! I was wondering why the tree looked like it was “tilting” and wondered if it was because I was not shooting perfectly parallel to with the trunk. Thanks for the reinforcement, I really appreciate it.
Again, thanks everyone for such constructive comments! Have a great day!
