Magical Bird
Uploaded: October 02, 2008
I took this shot on one zoo at around 5 in the afternoon. I talked to the bird keeper and asked her if I can go inside the cage to take some picture of this beautiful bird. Fortunately, she was very kind and accomodating so I was able to get a series of shots! My only problem was you can see the chicken wires in the BG. Obviously, you always want to project an animal in their natural habitat and not on the bird cage. So, I decided to make a selection of the bird in PS then applied the Frac filter to the background. It turned out wonderfully for me! I hope you would like it, too!!!
VR 70-200mm@130mm f/2.8 ISO 1/160s ISO 200 Matrix Metering, AF Mode
Aperture Priority 0EV Cloudy
Handheld
Cropped positioning the bird's eye (focal point) into the thirds
Adjusted brightness and contrast using curves in PS
Selected the BG and applied the frac filter
Uploaded and entered as a Digital Darkroom entry
