Just a boat, a tidal river and some clumps of vegetation. Would anyone care to critique this from the viewpoint of what if anything you the viewer can see or feel in this image.
Thanks, Pete #1004970

The green vegetation is interesting but the buoys are a bit distracting. I cropped the image just below the buoys (about the same amount of water above and below the boat) and liked how much more austere the boat seemed. Nice exposure for sure!

Good morning Jeff. Thank you for taking the time to comment on this image.
I tried the crop you mentioned and I like that version as well. When I took this image from the bridge spanning the River Camel at Wadebridge, Cornwall, I did zoom in to give something like you mentioned but from a slightly differant angel. I am thinking that it is not that one is better than the other just that it "says" something differant, although that might only be obvious to the person making the image. For me, that small bit of vegetation reminds me that when we were back there it was at a time of very high tides and it contrasted with the scene a couple of days later at a differant time of day when the tide at its lowest and the boats were sitting on mud. So, for me who once lived just a few miles from there and am now 4000 miles away in Illinois the nostalgia thing trumps the artistic merits but having said that, my wife who is a professional artist has this as a screen saver and loves it.
Thanks again Jeff, I do appreciate it.
