Thank you so much Kathleen. I have appreciated everyone's contributions to this image. We've had the light version, the dark version and now this one with the banner outside the window cloned out and converted to B&W. They all work in differing ways I think. This version is the 'artsy" version and the light one is the closest to how this tiny studio above the gallery actually was and the banner reminds me that this image was made on vacation in the UK at St Ives in Cornwall.
The owner of the gallery is a poet, librettist and artist and he regaled us with his poem of "all the young men lost at sea". Turned the occasion into something much more memorable than just a browse around a gallery.
Thanks again Kathleen

A wonderful image taken from a great pov. Love the lighting, tones, details, elements of design, feel. #6251877

Thank you for dropping by Vladan, I so appreciate your comments. I needn't repeat what I wrote in response to Kathleen's comments as it pretty much tells you how this image came about. What neither of you unfortunately can share is that I bought a CD from Bob Devereaux, the gallery owner mentioned above and I am sitting listening to him reciting his poems while typing this. It rounds out the whole experience for me now that I am 4000 miles away.

Thank you very much Mariann. I was talking with the gallery owner as I stood on the steep staircase leading up to this upper room and I have to admit I am rather pleased with how it turned out.

Hello Pete, the classic scene with antiquity aroma is really in place now! Beautiful picture. #6273092

Thank you so much Max. I have been very encouraged by the generous comments on all three of the versions of this image.
I think the aroma of antiquity is coming from the mold growing on the damp window surround! lol
I have never had a professionally printed and matted print made but I am very tempted to have one made of this one.
Thanks again friend.Pete #6273192

Pete! I do love this one, best of the three. And go ahead and get it printed and matted, it is lovely, the light is stunning- #6399971

Good to hear from you again Joan! Thank you so much for your comments. May I ask which pro printers you use or do you print them yourself?
