Kids selling charcoal Description: Captured raw in southern Madagascar. One of the things I like best about photography is being alone in the woods searching for wildlife subjects to shoot. I don't particularly like approaching people. That being said, I realize the importance of good people shots if you want to be a wildlife/nature/travel photographer. I feel I got a lot right in this shot thanks to the incredible light, colors and sky that evening, but the two boys are too posed. It makes a nice portrait, but I like people shots best when the subjects are doing something, usually working or playing or otherwise carrying on in their daily lives.
