Wonderful details in the flower. Excellent composition as well. All your photographs are thoughtfully crafted. Red is very hard to capture using digital camera as it saturates quite easily. I like to underexpose intense red scene to prevent the red channel from saturating....Hope this helps. #1137574

To respond to Jay's comment about red oversaturating (not that I think this photo is oversaturated) - There's a (somewhat) easy fix in photoshop that I've discovered. create a new layer in COLOR mode. Set the opacity very low - about 10-20%. in the original layer, select around the red area (using magic tool usually works best.) Then going back to your color layer, spill in the yellow (using the bucket tool.) This will bring out all the hidden detail from the oversaturated bits of the red area, without taking much away the brilliance of the color.

You can play around with the opacity levels, also the shades of yellow, then merge the layers and your done! :)
