Dead Horse Point, Canyonlands NP
Uploaded: June 02, 2008
Dead Horse Point, located in Canyonlands National Park, overlooking the Colorado river and the canyonlands in the distance. A storm was moving in and we could hear the thunder roll....Denny

Great capture, Denny! I was there about a month ago, and will post one or more from Dead Horse Point later. You got so great colors in this one, and wonderful clarity throughout the picture. What time of year, and day did you take this? I was there in the evening, to get some sunset shots. The sun disappeared behind the clouds before it set, but I got some decent shots, I think. #6010005John E. Steinway June 02, 2008
Another good one Denny. Great colors. I was just there last month and have some pretty good early morning images. They are on my website jsteinwayphotography.com. #6010053Jeana Clark June 02, 2008

Thanks everybody for your kind comments!!!Eivor, The photo was taken on 5/4/2006 at 6:48AM. It had been stormy for several days so the air was pretty clear.
John, I looked at your gallery and it`s great! Many people must see things the same way because I have carbon copies of many of your pictures. #6011192
Beautiful shot. I have camped on a site just up-stream of this famous bend in the river a couple of times. It's incredible! Super Rainbow Trout fishing with the chance to see California Condors soaring overhead. Also one of the darkest places I have ever been at night. The stars are fantastic. Definately a must repeat for me. Thanks for reminding me. #6013604
