A beautifully lit self portrait, Don! Great expression, concept and over-all composition! Your creative imagination is working overtime!!! Very well done, my dear friend! I like it a lot! #188038

Thanks you very much, Sanjay! If my creative imagination doesn't work overtime, I will get left behind by the works of you and other talented photographers at BP! #907204

Allan L. Whitehead 11/13/2004 6:39:23 AM

Ahhhh, yes, I remember it well. If I'm not mistaken, next it was 'rook to Bishop 2 - 'mate', eh…'

Wonderfull presentation, Donald, the b&w works well to portray the 'stark reality of the game'. Very well done, my dear friend - your good friend, Alla #907316

Donald K. Cherry 11/13/2004 6:45:27 AM

Thanks for the comment, Allan. I used to play this game a lot when I was in college, but have a hard time finding time and quality players now!

Take care my good friend!! Don #907332

Wally Orlowsky 11/13/2004 6:51:11 AM

Great setup and great acting, Don. I love the chessboard reflection in your glasses.

Since you asked, a few minor suggestions... the upper right reflection is a bit hot (a flat painted wall or a cloth might be better) ... a higher f-stop (maybe f8) might keep both your hand and your face in focus. #907341

Murry Grigsby 11/13/2004 7:04:18 AM

Neat idea, setup and self-portrait Don! It's nice to see you. I also think it could use more light and a smaller aperture. Good job!! #907369

A very neat photograph! I like the black and white along with the angle at which you took the photograph. You captured some very nice detail and you sure look like your thinking ahead about the move your about to make! #908122
