The Path by the Flood Wall

Uploaded: February 03, 2008

Description

This is another example of using lines to create the feeling of depth. The flood wall on the right and the roadway adn trees on the left seem to meet at a far away point. This perspective point creates a feeling of depth. Also, the floodwall cast a shadow on the trees that created a very sharp line, almost like a Graduated Filter with a sharp transition! I liked that effect. On a side note, this is a flood wall that deflected by did not give way (fortunately for us as it is less than a mile from my home) during Hurricane Katrina. Few similar floodwalls in other locations failed causing the majority of the flooding of the city of New Orleans.
