Trastevere Blue Laundry

Description

Rome, Italy, summer afternoon, during Ferragosto, Aug 15th when Rome is empty but for a few. Hanging laundry in Rome is the norm, whether you are wealthy or poor, most Romans think it is best to hang laundry to keep the clothes fresh and then have them ironed with a crisp fragrance.

I love your composition! It's so peaceful, relaxing and charming #174762

Grazie mille! It actually was a very relaxing, peaceful day and I was just wandering through the neighborhood of Trastevere without even a passerby in site, which is rare. I had a small camera in my purse and although I hadn't planned on taking photos that day I felt that I had Rome to myself so I went in search of laundry for hours down all my favorite hidden streets.
Where can I see your photos? Thanks again for the lovely compliment. #818042

Wonderful. "wandering through hidden streets" - it's exactly what I feel looking on your pictures. I think you should always have your camera with you!
Well, I keep sending my pictures to the Contest. Fortunetly they keep all pictures. So the easest way to find my pictures, just open a page with photos created by Fuji FinePix S3100 (http://www.betterphoto.com/gallery/dynoGall2.php?camID=6426) or FinePix 3800 (http://www.betterphoto.com/gallery/dynoGall2.php?camID=1293)and look for Anatoly Rodionov.
And here is my self-portrait
Cheers

Congratulations Diane on your win. We were in Italy in 2000, Rome included, and when I look at your pictures it makes me want to hop on a plane and come back. Maybe someday. Untill then I guess I'll just have to continue checking out your picture version. Keep up the good work ! #921497

Dear Wanda,

Thanks for your congratulations. It was a surprise for me. I love taking shots of laundry and in fact took some just yesterday. Are you taking any better photo courses now? I miss the interaction with other photographers. How is your photography coming along? I voted for you and always loved your work. #1076765

I am taking Charlie's Commerical Lighting course now...I am working some gosh awful hours now and it is difficult to finish my assignmants on time. Are you taking any on line courses now?

I will be taking some workshops in Maine this summer and am looking forward to the time to do nothing but photograph for a couple of weeks...One workshop will be with Joyce Tenneson and the other with Alison Shaw.

I have always loved the sensitivity of your work..you are the perfect photographer to be in Rome...I will keep an eye out for some more of your submissions... #1076821
