Wonderful photo Steven. What steps did you take to get this effect? #827394Michelle Alton January 11, 2008
Looks like Lucris to me. It's a great photo and effects work for me!Steven Deam January 11, 2008
I used Lucis Art on this particular one.I have made several presets for Lightroom that will give similar effects by pushing Recovery & Fill Light way up, Blacks up about 30%, Pushing Clarity and Vibrance way up and lowering saturation to about -75
From there you can play around with boosting or decreasing individual color channels, sharpening, etc. to get the effect you want.
As far as the specific recipe goes it depends heavily on the tonal range of the image. #5324226

This looks great! I like your thinking process for recreating in lightroom. I like to use a high pass filter myself. #5324235Judy A. Lawhon January 11, 2008
Great work, Steven....love the effects!! #5324406Dale Hardin January 11, 2008
Love the image and the effect Steven. Would love to recreate the effect but Lucas Arts is out of my price range. Have any idea how to approach something similar in PSE5? Dale #5324451Judi Morrissey January 11, 2008
Great image. Nice work, Steven. #5324603Michelle Alton January 11, 2008
Wow..Thanks for all the tips. You clearly know what you're talking about...I have a trial version of Lightroom, and it looks like fun...but I have so many things to learn that the thought of adding another complex piece of software is giving me a headache. I am just getting to love Camera Raw!Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
