In the Dark
Uploaded: December 30, 2007
ISO 400, F8, 1/60. Available light for backlight.
SB800 bounced off ceiling for fill.
All my B&W photos are shot in colour, but for me,
the magic in the tray of developer while I huddled in
the dark kitchen where my father set up the enlarger,
will always live.

This is even better than the previous one Alexis. I agree with you that there is nothing like watching a print slowly come out in the developer tray. There was something magical about a darkroom and the smells of the chemicals. #817985Shannon D. Miller December 30, 2007
This is magnificent! Wonderful lighting! I agree with you, there is nothing like developing your own film and prints. I miss those days! Shannon~ #5269418Sandra R. Alvey December 30, 2007

Another stunning portrait, Alexis! You are right about the old darkroom days, but one of the bonuses is not having to clean up after you have finished.Phillip R. Connolly December 31, 2007
Excellent portrait of Richard, Alexis. The tones are great. I have to agree with John though...whilst there was a certain magic in the dark room, you also had the smell of the chemicals on your skin that you couldn't seem to wash off. The safety factor of the light room is hard to beat!! http://topphoto.wetpaint.com/Phil #5273344
