Wow, thanks for all the positive comments, and on my first posting! This was my second attempt at this sort of shot. The first included lots of sky which became a bit blown out. The exposure was 30 seconds. It was taken about 30 minutes after sunset on a pretty clear day. The sea was particularly rough at the time, even though these long exposures make it look calm and peaceful. I used a small aperture and a polariser to maximise exposure time. The intense blue comes from a combination of evening light, a long exposure on Velvia film, and a bit of digital tweaking after scanning the slide. #20699
