Description

Shot in evening. The original was underexposed, which led to a bit of digital grain. I used the channel mixer to convert to b&w. I then used the marquee tool to select the wheat field in the foreground and then added and deleted from this selection using the magic lasso tool. I brightened the wheat layer and used the screen mode. I then adjusted the opacity.

Thank you Bruce.
It was amazing wathing this storm build. About 30-45 minutes after this photo, this storm produced strong enough winds to snap 27 telephone poles close to my hometown. The flat kansas plains afford us a great view of the awesome power of nature!

AWESOME! I love storms, and this is one of the coolest pictures I've seen. I love the emotion and the depth you get from the black and white... big fan of black and white! Great Job!!! - Care #735075

It looks overexposed at the top. I don't know if that will hurt your chances at winning with this otherwise INCREDIBLE shot!!! Absolutely amazing! #735180
