Thank you Louise. This is the lake where I used to play as a child. This particular view reminds me of my older brother who recently died from brain cancer. He used to catch frogs and turtles in the reeds with his buddies Dave and Brett. This was his spot-- and later mine too.

The lake is not often used now, but when we were children the dock would have been packed.--C2 #5065120

im telling u a liitle thing about composition. please don't mind. I like ur work that's why im telling. you see, the vertical lines (the plants) are leading the eyes from the bottom of the photo to the top. our brain is then anticipating that it is leading us somewhere. IMO placing a subject, even a phony one could have added more charm to this image than that already exists. otherwise u have a great shot.
sorry if i've been a bit long. :) #5171969

Thank you Suman-- I do see your point. I am working on series of images. Snapshots without people and they are heavily based on narrative, with perhaps not enough attention given to formal composition. When I go back to this spot, I will try to get a shot that is consistent with what you are saying in terms of verticality. Also, I do thank you for your advice in this respect. #5171989
